Begun in 2005, studio26 homes designs and constructs all its homes to Building America standards, focusing on providing significant whole-house energy savings.  The company's success stems from a design strategy that integrates best-of-breed mechanical systems with the home's tight thermal shell.  It also stems from working closely with trade partners and suppliers to implement their energy-saving designs in the field.

The company's principals, James Baker and sons, Brian and Scott Baker, bring expertise in engineering, architecture, and construction to the craft of high-performance homebuilding.  President, James Baker, who began his career at Bethlehem Steel in product development technology, now applies his unique engineering and management background to homebuilding.  Prior to starting studio26 homes, James was co-founder and CEO of a mid-sized computer service business for fifteen years.  Brian Baker, an architect, is V.P. of Marketing and Design, and applies his background in commercial architecture to deliver distinctive, energy-efficient homes.  Scott Baker, with a background in business management is V.P. of Operations, and works closely with trade partners and suppliers to implement the company's high-performance designs in field operations for optimum whole-house energy savings.

studio26 homes is located in the cold climate of Pennsylvania, where energy costs soar during the winter months.  "We educate Pennsylvanians about the potential of whole-house energy savings, showing them that a high-performance home can be affordable," says Brian Baker.  "We feel that if someone is contemplating a new custom home, there's no reason why it can't be an energy-efficient home."
